The Way We Wore® is pleased to announce the opening of an inspiration resource library available by appointment only. The library, accessible to the trade only, will feature important treasures from the private collection of Doris Raymond. Included in her vast archives are ethnic costumes, design prototypes, as well as a significant reference section filled with 18th to 20th century accessories, fabrics,several hundred volumes of swatch books of all types; yarn dyed mens, men's shirting from 1890's, lamé jacquards, lace and we also have an extensive collection of prints, and trims. There is also a significant library of books and reference materials to peruse.

For over a decade Raymond, the often referred to "fairy godmother of fashion inspiration", has made herself available to the trade as an invaluable resource. With a collection of over a half a million items of inspirational vintage pieces, she has been sought out by prominent designers and fashion notables such as Maison Martin Margiela, John Galliano, Ralph Lauren, Thakoon, Giorgio Armani, and interior designer Kelly Weartsler.

The library is adjacent to The Way We Wore® boutique on South La Brea Avenue - L.A.'s newest up and coming shopping district. Private appointments are available to the trade and all items are available for purchase.

Raymond is of the philosophy that her services and library will offer designers access to an incredible wealth of inspiration. "The process of design is extensive and sourcing, in particular, can be very labor intensive", explains Raymond. "I created the library to specifically assist designers in saving time and money while providing them with the best possible resources, all under one roof."
